April 30 - May 7, 2009
Miss Mamudu and Miss Rose from ACDWE's Ghana team hosted a domestic/sexual violence and communication issues workshop at a town called Tamale, which is in the Northern region of Ghana.  Twenty-five Deaf women, literate and illiterate, were in attendance.
Afterwards, Miss Mamudu attended a two days workshop hosted by Action on Disability and Development.  It was a convention on the rights of persons with disabilities and to discuss the Ghana Disability Act.

March 24 - 27, 2009
Justice for Deaf Victims National Coalition conference was held at Burlington, Vermont, USA which had Deaf professionals who work with Deaf surivovrs of sexual and domestic violence.  Workshops focused on topics of advocacy, administration, and program building within agencies.  Three representatives each from ACDWE and Peace Over Violence attended and interacted at the workshops/events. Note: Miss Mamudu was the first international Deaf attendee who registered at their conference.

One Love Over Violence: Heels on Halt fundraiser in Los Angeles, California, USA, was hosted by a sister agency, Peace Over Violence. $1,400+ were raised for ACDWE. ACDWE's 1 year anniversary dinner in Accra, Ghana, Africa, was held outside of a local restaurant.  A video shown at the event led to group discussion afterwards, which proved to be a success. We send our love and thank yous to all who were able to come and show support!
